Bargain Hunting Weekend

320.00 euros - per person in shared accommodation including all your food, refreshments and transport to and from the market.

420.00 euros - single accommodation as above

We are delighted to share with you for the first time the opportunity to join us at one of the best Attic Sales in the region. If you enjoy a good rummage, some genuine bargains and a glimpse at a different way of life and values then join us at the height of our summer in France at this once a year street market.

In France we have regulated Vide Greniers and Brocantes. A vide grenier is literally translated as an Attic Sale and only a few times a year are residents of France allowed to empty their attics and sell their treasures at the side of the road. This proves to be quite an Aladdin’s cave, along with the possible finds you may discover, you can enjoy the colour, atmosphere and fun of a French day out.
A Brocante is usually in a building and is where people can bring their unwanted items the rest of the year and leave them to be sold.

Saturday

After a good breakfast you will be taken to the Brocantes around the old City of Limoges. We recommend two Brocantes in Limoges and will stop for lunch in the old quarter to give you an opportunity to explore.

You will also visit a porcelain factory shop Maison de la Porcelaine at Aixe-Sur-Vienne, just outside Limoges.

After this extensive day of shopping we will return to Grue Demoiselle for a lovely 4 course evening meal with wine, resting of feet and convivial company to watch the starts come out.

Sunday

The Vide Grenier we will take you to is at Neuil, its a very big market and winds around the Châteaux. (see above photo)

After dinner, a good night’s sleep and breakfast at Grue Demoiselle we will take you to the market in our transport for the civilised start of 10.00 (The French don’t start their weekends before this time).

We will then part company until lunch time so you are free to wander at your own pace.

A traditional French Lunch will be in a little cafe at Neuil at 12.30. This will also be an opportunity to deposit any of your mornings shopping at the transport.

After lunch we will continue our bargain hunting before meeting at the transport and returning to Grue Demoiselle for relaxing before dinner in the evening.

Monday

Departures after breakfast.

We will recommend to you a service for transporting any large items purchased back to the UK.
