Tutor

Diane Egby-Edwards is an enigmatic tutor, much sought after and true to her path, she uses Shamanic methods in her work as a Hypnotherapist and Sound Healer. Calling in Spirit energy and journeying to heal others she uses drum, rattle and Native American flute and has been working in this way for many years, she has a very busy and successful practice in Bournemouth UK.

Diane has been facilitating shamanic drumming circles for several years: these are very powerful. The feedback she receives from people tells of profound changes that have happened in their lives since joining the circles. Diane also frequently encourages others to start their own drumming circles.

Diane has been a Hypnotherapist/Psychotherapist for 25 years, and a sound Healer/ Shamanic Healer for 10 years, unfortunately for us she is unable to bring her magnificent healing gongs this time to Grue Demoiselle but we are delighted she has chosen us as her only overseas teaching location in 2012.

Workshop

The Shaman was the Medicine Man; the Healer of a tribe. If food was short, hunting poor, or someone was ill then the Shaman would be asked to restore balance and turn things around. He would journey into other dimensions to seek healing wherever it was needed; using the repetitive beat of his drum or rattle he would enter altered states of consciousness. In non-ordinary reality his spirit guides and helpers would assist in whatever way was necessary to do the healing.

The Shaman was the doctor, the priest, the magician. When working with a patient he would ask “When did you stop singing?” or “When did you stop dancing?” Such questions are highly appropriate in our present culture, when the last time we sang or danced may have been in our schooldays. The Shaman (female: Shamanka) knew that such activities in a healthy, balanced human were of great importance. Not only do singing and dancing affect us positively because of their nature, they can also encourage us to share the experience with others. Sharing in a community is what we’re best at, and that’s what we do in our workshops.

In this two-day workshop we shall sing, dance, drum, and ‘rattle’. We’ll share some beautiful, moving ceremonies including Shamanic Journeying and Healing with the Stone People; we’ll also dance and chant. We will honour and call in the Directions and gather by the fireside at night to share stories as the sound of the Native flute carries us into the Dreamtime.

Please bring your stories to tell, and if you have them, your drum and flute.

Shamanism is about connecting with the Earth Mother and Sky Father. It’s about recognising that
all beings share in a precious life experience on this beautiful Planet Earth. All beings are our Relations. Truly we are all ONE TRIBE.
