Tutor
Kate Gold is an experienced tutor and creative writer working in some challenging environments and has a great ability to bring the best our of you and help you discover your hidden talents.
After running a series of poetry workshops in HMP Bristol in 2003, she was then employed by the Library as creative writing facilitator for their Storybook Dads project. The project was very successful, involving over 40 prisoners and receiving excellent feedback from both participants and families. The project was run again in 2005/2006.
She also designed and ran an OCN level (1 & 2 ) creative writing course for the Education department which she ran for 2 years. Other groups she have worked with have been in community settings and with young people with eating disorders.
Kates training has been in the creative arts and she has experience working in dance, visual arts/crafts and creative writing. Kate has always been interested in the connection between creativity and healing and believe that we are all 'creative artists' in our own way.

Workshop
What a fabulous opportunity to create a family heirloom, something special and unique for your beloved children or child. We feel very strongly that Dads dont get many opportunities to be the centrepoint in their childrens lives, especially if they no longer live in the same home as the child. We are giving you the opportunity to come and spend a few days with other Dads at our lovely farmhouse and create something very personal that your child will treasure for their entire life, and who knows where it may lead you?
This four day workshop is designed for Dads who would like to write a story for their child or children. It may be a simple picture book style story, a collection of poems, a short story or a chapter or two of a potentially longer story.
You will be offered the information and support to help you achieve your goal. The work will be typed on a computer, so a certain level of computer skills is preferable though not essential.
Please do not be put off if you are worried about basic skills like writing or spelling, sometimes a lack of these skills can make you more creative as a storyteller. All Dads are welcome.
Please bring a laptop with you, if you do not have access to one please contact us.
For those who complete their writing, it is possible for their work to be spiral bound and pvc covered.
Arrivals - Wednesday 29th May
